Training

K2 has recently updated its main training courses: Managing TUPE in the  Public Sector from a. the Authority's perspective and b. the Supplier's perspective. It is broken down into 10 modules that can be modified to suit your needs. Both courses provide detailed insights that will help either party manage change better. The courses are held at our Gloucester office, in Bristol or we can run at a client's location.

K2 also provides senior management briefings on TUPE and the circumstances in which  it might feature in an organisation's thinking. These are very focussed sessions, lasting for up to an hour, and aim to give senior managers the fullest possible picture of the process and where it fits within the wider decision-making  process.

Vendor Management

The client organisation must be ready to manage the supplier relationship and performance under contract as soon as possible, ideally long before the commercial negotiations are completed. Successful vendor management clearly depends on clarity within the contract about the respective responsibilities of each party. We can provide clear guidance and examples of best practice which will build trust and effective relationships with suppliers.

In our experience, up to 75% of the potential value identified in the business case will be in jeopardy unless effective relationship management procedures are installed within the client organisation and stipulated in the contract.

Our input to your process includes guidance on:

  • management style with the emphasis on proactive, "eyes on/hands off", proactive behaviour
  • how the client organisation should be structured to manage the new relationship
  • the governance regime required to be established before the contract is signed
  • the skill sets required to fulfil the relationship management role
  • creation of a Transition Management Office (TMO)
  • stakeholder engagement and management
  • relationship monitoring arrangements

Our services at a glance:

  • Analysis of initial situation
  • Definition of alternative courses of action
  • Conception and implementation of the continuity strategy
  • Professional headhunting for suitable successors
  • Process management, documentation and controlling
